At the heart of the digital infrastructure are individuals. The true enemy lies not in the other, but ourselves. In a retrospective of the first phase of digital transformation, we need to recognize our culpability in the long process of building what has become the world. This is will be done through historical material analysis of the design profession.
ADVANCE DESIGN is working toward the realization of beauty, truth, justice, freedom and peace. In the coming issues, I will give a meditation on these transcendentals in relation to the current day and how the designer can work toward their achievement.
What is the designer’s role in the noospheric era? Is the designer beholden in perpetuity to capital? What role does design play in the east vs west war over what is the good? How do we realize our unity?
